Who are the workshops for?

Our workshops are designed for young people aged 12–18 who are interested in filmmaking, acting, or creative storytelling. No previous experience is required — just enthusiasm!

What happens during the workshop?

​

Over two action-packed days, students learn to write, shoot, direct, and star in their own short film. They gain hands-on experience with real film equipment, work as a crew, and leave with a professionally edited film to share.

Where are the workshops held?

​

We run workshops at trusted venues across the UK, including theatres, studios, and schools. Each location is fully insured and risk-assessed for safety.

​

Who runs the workshops?

​

All workshops are led by experienced industry professionals with backgrounds in filmmaking and teaching. All tutors are fully DBS-checked and trained to work with young people.

How much do workshops cost?

​

Our standard two-day workshop costs £250, but we also offer discounted places for families on low income. See our Financial Support page for more details.

Do students need to bring anything?

​

Just lunch, water, and their imagination! All filming equipment and materials are provided by AR Studios.

​

Can parents stay and watch?

​

To keep students focused and build confidence, workshops are drop-off only. However, we often host a film screening for parents once the final film is complete.

What if my child is shy or has additional needs?

​

We welcome all students and do our best to create a supportive, inclusive environment. Let us know in advance about any specific needs, and we'll work with you to ensure your child has a great experience.

Will students get a copy of their film?

Yes! Every student will receive a downloadable link to the professionally edited short film once it’s completed.

​

How do I book a place?

​

You can book online through our website. Just head to the Book a Workshop page and choose your preferred location and date.

What if I need to cancel?

​

Due to the nature of our workshops refunds are not available once a workshop has been purchased. Please ensure that your child is available on the workshop date you purchased.
